I am Tariq and I am ten years old. I go to a school in my town. My school is big and it has a green playground. I walk to school with my friend Bilal every day.

Classes start at eight o’clock. My first class is maths. I am good at maths, but I like art more. In art class, we draw and paint. Our teacher, Mr Salim, is very kind. At eleven o’clock, we have a short break. I eat a sandwich and play with my friends.

After lunch, we have English and science. I like to read English books. School finishes at two o’clock. Then I go home, eat lunch, and do my homework. I like my school because I learn many new things every day.

Key words
  • playground – the open place at school where children play
  • break – a short rest time between classes
  • draw – to make a picture with a pencil or pen
