The Lost Phone
Read a story about a lost phone and a kind stranger. An A2 reading story with key words and comprehension questions.
Yesterday, Michael had a bad morning. He was on the bus to work when he suddenly noticed that his phone was not in his pocket. He felt worried. He looked in his bag and on the floor of the bus, but he could not find it. He was sure that he had lost it.
When he arrived at work, he used a friend’s phone to call his own number. To his surprise, a woman answered. “Hello,” she said. “I found this phone on the bus seat. My name is Emma. I can bring it to you at lunchtime.” Michael was very happy and relieved.
At lunchtime, Emma came to his office and gave him the phone. Michael thanked her many times and offered her some money, but she did not want it. “Just help someone else one day,” she said with a smile. Michael learned an important lesson that day. There are still many kind and honest people in the world.
